It was owned by the Carlyle Group (56%), Lehmen Brothers (36%), management (5%) and Oak Tree Capital (3%). Today, it is mainly owned by Bayside Capital Investments and has 412 employees (at January
2005). The Airline emerged from bankruptcy reorganization in a debt restructuring involving a DIP (debtor in position) and exchange of debt for equity with Bayside Capital in August 2006. Bayside has pledged to grow Gemini and take advantage of the fast growing cargo market into the next two decades.

Gemini Air Cargo operates the following freight services (at January 2005):
- International scheduled destinations: Brussels, Guayaquil, Hong Kong, Nottingham, Quito, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Frankfurt, Seoul, Taipei, and Medellín.
Fleet
The Gemini Air Cargo fleet, which is exclusively a "Heavy" aircraft fleet, includes the following aircraft (at August 2007):
- 4 McDonnell Douglas MD-11F
- 5 McDonnell Douglas DC-10 "CH-Aviation"
- It is reported that they are actively seeking to add to their fleet of MD-11's.
- One DC-10 is now being used as a spare and plans are being laid to retire 3 DC-10's in 2007.
